Margaret Skeel's brave new venture

I have been a published author for over 25 years now, but when I got the chance to collaborate with a screenplay writer for my novel, framed, I decided that it was a skill I wanted to develop.

In 2020 I took a screenplay writing course through the University of East Anglia in the UK.

I used that course to develop the script for my African Soceress series.

I also downloaded screenwriters software (Trelby) and taught myself how to use it.  I joined the Australian Writers Guild (AWG) and the international Screenwriters Association (ISA) www.networks.org.au/profile/Margaret-Skeel

I am currently working as a script writer for two authors, turning their books into screenplays: "Reminiscences of a Reluctant Spy" by Roma Ravn and "The Akempis Connection" by Michael Kelly.

I am also continuing to refine scripts for '"Framed!" and "African Sorceress". I'm writing separate scripts for both - as Movies and as Pilots for series.

A further script  is about Matron Hilda McMaugh, Australia's first licensed female pilot. She was also a WWI Anzac Girl and owned her own private hospital. She provided innovative care to the small town of Uralla NSW from the 1920's to the 1950's. She is a local heroine who should be acknowledged, not ignored!

I am also continuing to refine scripts for '"Framed!" and "African Sorceress". I'm writing separate scripts for both - as Movies and as Pilots for series.

Maggie also writes Historical Fiction. Her first book, '"Framed!" takes place in Australia and is about a convict's son's struggle to survive.  Her African Sorceress series follows her heroine from 17th century Africa to Brazil and the Caribbean in a heroic battle against slavery. Believing that both stories deserve to be movies, Maggie has embarked on this new venture   https://networkisa.org/profiles/margaret-skeel
